Ali S. asked a question to Dharmendra S.
Thank you so much for your question. Indeed, I believe I have grown both horizontally and vertically in my Nokia career. If I consider the technology perspective, I started with OSS and Core, and finally covered most of the business groups solutions, including Radio Access, transport, Fixed Broadband, IP, Optical, Software, Cloud, Applications and Services. Beginning as an individual contributor, I have led quite large and diverse local and virtual teams. From roles and responsibilities perspective, I covered a variety including Product Management, Sales, Pre-Sales, Bid Management, Marketing and Strategy, Selling Services and Operations. I am very grateful to Nokia for providing so many opportunities to learn and grow together.
Working abroad helped me in many ways. Getting adjusted to new environment and cultures has made my journey more enriching. It also fueled my creativity and resilience. It also taught me the difference in working styles e.g. in HQ as compared to various markets. It helped me to build relations across the verticals and locations. All this has been of tremendous value in my career journey.
I hope my response was useful. I wish you the best.
hi @Emre C., feel free to join the discussion and share your experience too :)
Thanks for the question! I have grown a lot over the years at Nokia. I basically started as a student just out of school with no real connection to technology except a for few classes at school. From there, I was fortunate to get the chance to join the dual study program at Nokia Stuttgart where I learned a lot about technologies, for example networking fundamentals and about the daily work at an international company like Nokia.
Regarding working abroad:
I did an internship at Nokia Japan which was a great opportunity to get to know such a unique and amazing culture. I benefitted a lot from working with our international colleagues across APAC and collaborating on projects in such a culturally diverse region (the food is amazing too ;) ).
Wishing you the best!
