Sam C. asked a question to Casey C.
I've just applied to the Software Dev Intern role, and was curious about others' career beginnings/stories.
Hello Sam C.,
To be honest, it's definitely a learning curve. I didn't have a telecom background from university, but I'm thankful for my first hiring manager who believed in me.
The QA role taught me how to think critically about software quality and understand customer requirements. This foundation helped in my current architecture role - I can anticipate potential issues and design better solutions because I understand how things work and can break.
Nokia provides good training and mentorship to start your career. You'll have support as you learn, then gradually climb the career ladder as you gain knowledge and experience.
Good luck on your application! I'd be excited if you ping me when you get the role!
Best regards,
Casey
