Hi George,
Nokia's been ramping up its SoC ambitions. In late 2023, its SoC‑head noted they've moved from baseband/radio focus into preparing for 6G chips. In January 2024, Nokia committed €360 million into microelectronics R&D over four years, explicitly including high‑performance SoCs for 5G‑Advanced and 6G gear. Nokia also have a Center of Excellence with Tampere University since 2020 for custom ReefShark SoCs.
