Ranju S. asked a question to Steve T.
Replying on behalf of Steve T.,
"I view the analytics space as a continuum, encompassing Descriptive, Diagnostic, Inferential, Predictive, and Prescriptive analytics. As we progress from Descriptive to Prescriptive analytics, the required knowledge, skills, tools, and techniques become increasingly complex—along with the potential business impact. Data-driven decisions invariably lead to positive outcomes for Nokia, enhancing both accuracy and efficiency. However, it's important to acknowledge that more than half of business decisions are still based on "experience" and "gut feel." We often make educated guesses, then collect data to evaluate their accuracy. In some cases, we might even manipulate data to confirm our initial assumptions. While decisions vary in their value, they also demand different levels of effort to implement. Allocating resources efficiently is crucial, and this in itself is yet another data-driven decision."
