I'm not totally familiar with the skills of a deployment engineer but I think it involves computer programming and likely some math or statistics. I would say a problem-solving skill set will transfer to data analytics. I would perhaps take some training classes that focus on data collection and visualization. Much of what a Data Analyst is asked to do is collect, clean, analyze, and visualize data. If you can develop those skills you will have the foundation to evolve your career.
