    Rita L. Assistant Professor

During my time at Nokia as a process mining developer, I've seen my academic work directly translate into real-world impact in several meaningful ways. My thesis focused on integrating the Business Process Management (BPM) lifecycle with process mining, and that theoretical foundation has become highly relevant in my daily responsibilities.

At Nokia, I've tried to apply that knowledge by designing process mining solutions that not only analyze current operations but also feed insights back into the continuous improvement cycle — essentially closing the BPM loop. It is not the same as in theoretical vision of the process, like in academia, but we can try to incorporate our knowledge and the way things were learnt to promote better processes and solutions.
