Hi Eerik and thank you for a great discussion. We try to integrate our trainees as good as we can with different educational paths and induction plans. We try to also enable learning and co-operation with the schools and students to leverage maximum value for the trainees. Because there is quite long time since I have been trainee myself I asked comment from one of our recent trainees and hope this answers well your question:
Aleksi Niemi's thoughts of joining to Nokia (Oulu) as an intern.
I joined Nokia in the beginning of summer 2020.
I remember feeling excited as well as expectant when I got an intern-level job offer from Nokia.
The intern-level job in summer 2020 was in a hardware specialised team.
I was and still am studying a software focused studies, so, to work in a totally new company for me as well as learning new topics from different perspective were fascinating.
And to be honest, a bit frightening, too. However, when I met my team and started to learn the basics, the frightening kind of feelings started to diminish.
The starting and the working process were quite different from the 'norm', as Finland was facing lock downs and restrictions due to COVID-19 and working from home started to be the 'new' norm.
All in all I would describe working as an intern for Nokia to be educating, eye-opening and rewarding experience. At least for a student that did not have previous experience in Mobile Networks industry.
