Data analytic projects are comprised of data ingestion/data pipelining, followed by data management, analytics, and lastly reporting. I recommend you start in the reporting area, this will be easiest part to learn. Start by learning Tableau and PowerBI, these are two common apps used and offer free downloads and training.
