Hi,
this is an interesting question. Given my background (economics, finance & consulting) I didn't know what to expect from a job in Nokia IT in the first place. It was a big leap into unknown for me and I'm glad I did it the way I did. Ironically, I believe having known how much I will get to learn and grow as an individual throughout the next years would be more overwhelming than healthy.
However, there is one thing I wish I knew better before I joined. And that's the details about Nokia's extensive and diverse history. I wish I knew more about different endeavours and business areas that the company pursued in its 150+ years of history, as well as successes and challenges that made Nokia what it is today.
