Patricia P. asked a question to Emre C.
And I don't mean the usual "oh, ask people things, ask for help, learn learn learn". I mean things that you personally realized one day and it hit, telling yourself you wish you'd known that earlier.
Hi Patricia,
Thank you for the question! I am assuming that you are already focusing on the right technical skills and asking the right questions :D.
The importance of Visibility is a key point that I would have liked to learn about earlier. The phrase "Do good and talk about it!" summarizes it quite well. You could be the most talented Software Engineer in the world, but if no one knows you exist or what you have achieved, it's harder to get the dream job or advance in your career.
We live in a world of information overload where simply being "on the radar" of the right people can be a huge advantage. You could build this visibility by attending community meetups, working on your own projects or contributing to open-source projects.
I hope this helps!
Cheers,
Emre
