Eric W. asked a question to Rita L.
Hi Eric, great question!
I believe an excellent candidate for a new grad role is someone who shows curiosity, adaptability, and a willingness to learn. At Nokia, technical skills are of course important, but what really makes a difference is the attitude: being proactive in asking questions, open to feedback, and eager to collaborate with colleagues from different backgrounds.
Looking back, what I would have wanted when I joined is the confidence to ask more questions early on and to take advantage of all the resources and opportunities available. Nokia offers many learning platforms, mentorship programs, and chances to get involved in projects — and I’ve learned that the more you engage with these, the faster you grow.
So for me, an excellent candidate is not necessarily the one who knows everything already, but the one who demonstrates a growth mindset, enthusiasm, and the ability to work well with others. These qualities not only make the onboarding smoother but also set the foundation for long-term success at Nokia.
