For co-op or internship students, what kinds of training or mentorship programs does Nokia provide to help them quickly build technical skills and grow professionally?
When you join Nokia as a student, you’ll be paired with a dedicated mentor from your team. This could be your manager, team lead, or someone specifically assigned to support student development.
Your mentor will be your first point of contact throughout your term. This includes helping you get settled, guiding you through onboarding and training, and answering any questions you may have. Most importantly, they’ll be there to support your growth and help you feel truly connected to Team Nokia.
In addition to your dedicated mentor, there might be opportunities to do pair programming with other students and full-time developers on your direct team, and in the broader team (if any). Everyone is easily reachable and would love to help. Weekly student sync calls can take place where all students and their supervisor have an in person/on-camera call where everyone gets to share topics about work/personal/and/or fun stuff! It eases the imposter syndrome and increases team bonding.
There are also "lunch and learn" style sessions throughout the term that provide great opportunities to learn from experienced professionals. Finally, there is a great library of online courses that Nokia offers through our online learning platform, where you can take courses on technologies you want to learn about, and also courses to learn about Nokia products.
