Aileen S. asked a question to Vilmos M.
I am Aileen Sengupta, a final-year Ph.D. candidate researching LLMs with compressed videos to enhance prediction capabilities for video saliency. Active in IEEE, I learned about NOKIA through students and associates, sparking my curiosity about your innovative work. Hope to hear from you! Take Care.
Thank you for your question and for sharing your background, Aileen! Your PhD research on LLMs and video saliency, combined with your active involvement in IEEE, represents an impressive blend of academic excellence and professional engagement. Big kudos!
I chose Nokia for two main reasons. First, I was drawn to the opportunity to work at a large multinational company spanning the globe. Coming from a very small company, I was curious about what it would be like to work in a multicultural environment where projects often involve collaboration across multiple countries and cultures.
Second, and perhaps more importantly, I was inspired by Nokia's mission to "create technology that helps the world act together." The company's commitment to using technology to create a more sustainable, productive, and accessible future really resonated with me. Even though my individual contribution might be small, knowing that my work contributes to "creating a better world" is incredibly motivating.
Given your research background, you might be particularly interested in Nokia Bell Labs, where teams are working on cutting-edge innovation and research in areas like 6G, AI, and space communication. You can find out more about them here: https://www.nokia.com/bell-labs/.
I wish you energy and success in completing your PhD! I hope you find Nokia's work as interesting as I do, and I encourage you to consider joining us in shaping the future of telecommunications and technology.
Dear Vilmos,
Thank you for your encouraging words. Your profile seems to be someone that I want to become in the future so any words of encouragement from powerful leaders such as yourself, whose path you choose to follow are always welcome. I hope I can get an opportunity someday to contribute at NOKIA Bells. I am excited to start my career for this company until then I will continue my volunteering endeavors towards IEEE and IEEE HKN.
I hope to keep in touch.
Thanks,
Aileen
