Sami A. asked a question to Rana M.
Hi Sami, great to connect with you.
In general, within tech, academic exposure is important, but it’s equally important to demonstrate practical, hands‑on exposure or experience. This can be through internships, personal projects, coursework, hackathons, or any applied learning. These experiences really help showcase your genuine interest and passion for a specific area within tech.
It’s beneficial to be focused on the path in tech you want to pursue rather than trying to cover everything. Candidates who can articulate a defined interest within tech often stand out more. Also, when applying, make sure your CV is clear, structured, and tailored to highlight the most relevant skills for each opportunity. Leveraging LinkedIn is also very useful both for staying informed about opportunities and for networking with professionals and companies you’re interested in. This can then also arise for opportunities to attend industry events, whether in person or virtual, where you can further expand your network and gain visibility.
I hope this helps, and I wish you all the best in your career journey!
Rana
